
BIO
Roni is a theatre director and creator. She specializes in visual theatre, devised theatre, movement theatre, and view-point acting techniques.
Roni conceived, directed and produced unKnown while participating in the residency for directors program at the Notzar Theatre in Bat Yam, Israel (2021). Amongst her more recent productions are Pinta (2020) and Gufa - her Body (2019) both of which premiered at the Akko Festival of Alternative Israeli theatre. She also has experience in directing classic theatrical texts such as Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba (2017) and Farmyard (2016) by Franz Kroetz, both of which were staged at the Tel Aviv University, Theatre Department. She created and directed Haunted: A House Show (2013), a unique devised theatre exploring alternative performance spaces with the Yokohama Theatre Group, in Japan.
Roni worked as an assistant director for the Khan Theatre, Jerusalem (2014-2017) and the Habima-National Theatre of Israel (2015). She has an M.F.A. Theatre directing, Tel Aviv University (2018) and a B.A. Honors. Cum Laude. Devised Theatre. York University, Toronto, Canada (2010).
